Triangle

Our focus is to help you get pregnant, stay pregnant, and guide you healthily through your pregnancy.

Adenomyosis Perth

Adenomyosis

Adenomyosis causes heavy periods due to tissue similar to the uterine lining growing within the uterine muscle. This condition can also cause severe pelvic and lower back pain as the uterus becomes enlarged and heavy.

Understanding adenomyosis is important for working towards a safe ongoing pregnancy, and after your pregnancy, an improved quality of life.

Fibroids Perth

Fibroids

Uterine fibroids are uterine-muscle growths in or on the womb. Not all fibroids cause symptoms, but when they do, you might experience heavy periods, back pain, and pelvic pain. Fibroids can also be linked to fertility issues. We’ll discuss your specific symptoms to determine the best treatment pathway.

PCOS Perth

PCOS

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that can affect your ability to conceive.

Dr Rhys Bellinge

“Many women only discover they have PCOS when they have difficulty becoming pregnant.”

Dr Rhys Bellinge

Gynaecologist Murdoch

Common symptoms of PCOS include:

  • Irregular periods
  • Acne
  • Unwanted hair growth
  • Weight gain

As with all women’s health conditions, it’s important to review your symptom history and overall health. From there, we can perform some non-invasive investigations.

Understanding PCOS effectively can improve your chances of getting pregnant, staying pregnant, and maintaining an improved overall personal health, lifelong.

Pelvic pain Perth

Investigation of pelvic pain

Pelvic pain can be debilitating, making daily activities challenging. Sometimes, a laparoscopic investigation is necessary to determine the cause, and ideally, reduce your pain. This pain can be associated with heavy and painful periods, or other conditions discussed on this page.

Rest assured, we use our extensive experience to help alleviate your pain and provide a clear diagnosis.

Endometriosis Perth

Endometriosis

Endometriosis often comes up during discussions about period pain with your general practitioner. As your Perth gynaecologist, Dr Rhys Bellinge helps with both the diagnosis and ongoing management of endometriosis symptoms.

Dr Rhys Bellinge
“Proper management of endometriosis can significantly improve your chances of conceiving and maintaining a healthy pregnancy.”

Laparoscopic surgery Perth

Laparoscopic surgery

Laparoscopy, or keyhole surgery, is a minimally invasive procedure, and you most often can go home the same day.  Common gynaecological laparoscopic surgeries address infertility, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, or permanent contraception. These procedures are often crucial for diagnosing and treating conditions that affect fertility and pregnancy, helping you conceive and carry a healthy baby to term.

Period pain Perth

Menstrual disorders

Menstrual discomfort is real, regardless of your age. At Concept Obstetrics and Gynaecology, we:

  • Investigate the possible causes of your discomfort
  • Help reduce pain and discomfort
  • Help you understand what’s happening
  • Work with you to develop the best management or treatment plan

Managing menstrual disorders is essential for enhancing fertility and supporting a healthy pregnancy. You may have been diagnosed with an endometrial polyp for example, and this will certainly cause pain, bleeding or difficulty in falling pregnant.

Contraception Perth

Unwanted fertility, reliable contraception

When you have decided that your family is complete and you are looking for either a permanent, or long-acting but reversible contraception, we can help you with these options, either in the out-patient setting, or via a short and low-risk laparoscopic procedure to remove your tubes, which conveys the additional benefit of reducing your lifetime risk of ovarian cancer.

Abnormal pap smear

Management of abnormal cervical screening tests

When surgery is recommended for pre-malignant changes, we can safely remove the portion of the cervix at risk of changing into cancer, with a brief low-risk surgical procedure. It is important to have these issues resolved well before commencing your fertility journey.
